Singing4fun with Parkinson’s

Our group is not just for people with Parkinson’s – anyone who wants to sing is welcome. No prior singing experience is required and there is no requirement to read music – songs are taught by call and response and words are projected on a screen. There are two sessions per week:

Tuesdays, 2-4pm at Marchmont St Giles, Kilgraston Road, Edinburgh, EH9 2DW

Wednesdays, 7-9pm at Grace Baptist North, 64 Logie Green Road, Edinburgh, EH7 4HQ.

Sessions are in term times – you can download a complete list of dates for 2017/2018 here:

You do not need to commit to coming every week, drop in when you can. There is a small charge for each session.

We sing for fun and enjoyment as well as to exercise the vocal folds and the facial muscles. Our singing builds friendships and laughter is guaranteed! Our sessions include rounds, part harmonies, traditional songs, jazz numbers, ballads and songs from around the globe. We generally sing without accompaniment but occasionally our song leaders may add a little of their choosing.

Our experienced song leaders are:

Tuesdays: Penny Stone

Wednesdays: Ellie Logan

For further information or to let us know you are coming for the first time, please contact Cathie Quinn, 0131 557 6438 or cathie@edinburghparkinsons.org.
