BOXING: NEW ONLINE CLASS
At the ‘YP’ meeting on 6th August 2026, the guest speaker was Craig Comrie, who is a former professional footballer, experienced personal trainer, and boxing coach with a special interest in working with Parkinson’s.
Craig has been working with P-UK, and his transformative online boxing programme helps people with Parkinson’s control the impact of PD on their lives, by making them stronger both physically and mentally.
What It Combines
From Craig’s presentation to the YPs he confirms this is as multi-tasking workout which involves:
🥊 Large movements – encouraging bigger, stronger actions
👣 Footwork & balance – improving control
🔄 Repetition & rhythm – reinforcing patterns
🧠 Thinking & reacting – active brain exercise
Price: 1 Class a week £4.75 per class; 2 Classes a week £4.50 per class; 3 Classes a week £4.25 per class.
When: Classes are Monday and Wednesday evenings and also Friday and Saturday mornings.

RE-CONNECT DANCE PROJECT
Edinburgh Community Performing Arts (ECPA) have shared with us some dance classes, and we are happy to share details.
These gentle movement classes are for older people aged 65+ on Mondays and Thursdays from 10.30am – 12.15pm.
These supportive community classes are designed for people who may have Dementia, Parkinson’s or restricted movement.
The activities will be led by a professional dance artist, supported by volunteers and movements can be done seated, standing or a combination of both.
These projects are free for participants, and are an opportunity for people to improve their health and wellbeing, make new friends and learn a new skill.
The classes will be held at DN Studios, 9b South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh EH12 9EB.
