Please note our Tai Chi summer break. Classes will finish the week ending 14th July 2023. Classes will restart with face-to-face class on Tuesday 18th September, and online class Wednesday 19th.
Tai Chi is a gentle but powerful form of flowing movement that may help in improving balance, spinal alignment and posture, physical strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. By combining the slow movement with the breath many people find it beneficial in reducing stress and anxiety. Tai Chi can be done seated or standing or a combination of both depending on participants’ requirements.
Our Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Meditation Teacher, Kevin Brown, is running two weekly classes. One is in-person and one is online via Zoom. Details below:
Weekly sessions for people with Parkinson’s (care-partners are able to attend when space allows).
Where: Barclay Viewforth Church, 1 Wright’s Houses, Edinburgh EH10
When: Tuesdays 11am – 12pm (may overrun slightly)
The online Parkinson’s Tai Chi class on Zoom takes place on a Wednesday from 11.30am 12.30pm.
To join these sessions please contact Kevin via 01506 845 498 (please leave a message if out), or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Newcomers are free for their first block or part thereof (depending on when they first join), as long as there is space.
The contribution towards class costs is £4 per session bookable in a block, the length of which can vary (generally 6 sessions).
Payment is preferably by cheque (to Edinburgh Branch Parkinson’s UK) at the first session (or the next session if someone has to miss the first). If cheque is not possible, participants can pay the block sum by using the Branch JustGiving page . But please do not add Gift Aid as the Branch is not allowed to claim it where a service has been provided in relation to a donation. It would also help our Treasurer if you identified the activity e.g. Tai Chi.
