What Parkinson’s Feels Like: Free eBook Download

Parkinson’s Europe contacted us to make us aware of a free eBook to download. The information in their email is provided below:

“This beautifully illustrated new e-book, based on people with Parkinson’s descriptions of what living with the condition is really like, is now free to download and share.

Canadian artist Barbara Salsberg Mathews, who has Parkinson’s herself, created the book after asking her social media followers earlier this year: what does Parkinson’s feel like for you? She then created a series of artworks to illustrate their responses, using watercolour, ink, acrylic paint and Photoshop.

The resulting e-book, What Parkinson’s Feels Like: a collection of illustrations inspired by descriptions written by people with Parkinson’s around the globe is now available. It is free to download, although any donations to Barbara’s nominated Parkinson’s charities – Parkinson’s Europe, Parkinson Canada or PD Avengers – would be greatly appreciated”.

Richelle Flanagan who delivered our 2024 Edinburgh Parkinson’s Lecture has a testimonial on the book details page:
“I am so amazed to see who you are Barbara and how incredibly brave you are to express your talent in ways to portray a small sliver of the world in living with PD. I am honored to be collaborating with Parkinson Europe, Parkinson Canada, Parkinson’s UK and more so we will keep rallying with urgency.”
