Report on Recent Edinburgh Marathon Festival

Branch Committee member Stuart Smith spent several hours on the Parkinson’s stand last Sunday at the Edinburgh Marathon. He sent us an update.

There were people from the Parkinson’s UK London events team who organised the stand as well as some from Parkinson’s UK Scotland.

Around 110 runners were running for Parkinson’s UK, in either the half marathon or the marathon. There were Parkinson’s runners from all over the UK, and one runner came from Pennsylvania with his parents.

Scotland Direct James Jopling members of the events team were at the Parkinson’s official cheering point.  Runners said that the cheering team put up a great performance. It would have been nice if we could have had some of the Edinburgh Branch members to cheer from the official cheering point – but if you did support from other parts of the route – many thanks.

All in all, it was a great event and a whopping £63,000 and more was been raised for the charity.
