We have been for some time planning to introduce a walking group. Due to Covid-19 our plans have been delayed as we have to put the safety of our members as highest priority. We also have had to adhere to the guidelines of Parkinson’s-UK.
We are now at an advanced stage of planning a ‘Walk in the Park’ initiative. The walks will be relatively informal. We know that Parkinson’s can put paid to the best of plans, when an ‘off day’ happens. So for this trial, it will be an activity where people are very welcome to turn up, but don’t feel pressured to register in advance and worry about letting anyone down if on the day they don’t feel able to come along.
The way it works is that at least two committee members or volunteers will be at the meeting points. If nobody else turns up, no worries. The two folk can enjoy the walk and head for coffee after a pleasant stroll. We will all of course adhere to any current guidelines in relation to Covid-19.
The walks are open to PWPs and their supporters.

- Thurs 28 October 10.30 Meadows (JawBone Walk entrance on Melville Drive)
- Mon 29 November 10.30 (Hermitage of Braid Cafe)
- Tues 12 October 10.30 Inverleith Park (Arboretum Place entrance) (Please note this is a change to the original date on this webpage)
