Face To Face Pilates And Neurodynamics Classes

Sasha Baggaley is delighted to announce that our face to face classes have started in Musselburgh, and we are now ready to restart classes in Morningside in March. Online classes will continue as usual, and you are welcome to attend both/either.

Please can you let Sasha know if you are interested in attending any of the classes below, giving your time and venue preferences, and how often you would wish to attend (weekly, fortnightly, monthly).

Sasha will then try to allocate accordingly so that classes are kept to a sensible size for social distancing, etc. Once she has put together the groups, she will email to confirm your time and venue allocation.  (This this will probably take a couple of weeks, but please let Sasha know if you haven’t heard back by the end of February).

Cost

The cost for classes is still £3 per class, payable to the Branch via our Just Giving page.  (Please do not add gift aid when making your donation, as you are receiving a service in return for your donation – but please do state what activity you are making that donation for).

The suggestion is to donate for 10 classes at a time.  You can keep track of what you have paid, and when to repay for next block.

Precautions and Rules
Obviously, we are taking the necessary precautions at classes to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.  Things will be a little different from how you may remember them, if you have attended before.

Please take note of the arrangements below:

RULES!

Attendance

Only attend the class you have been assigned to (unless you contact Sasha to make changes in advance).

Do not attend if you are unwell, have COVID symptoms, have a positive lateral flow test, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive in the last 5 days.

Please notify Sasha if you attended a class, and subsequently tested positive during the following week.

Please do not arrive at the building earlier than 5 minutes before your class is due to start, and do not enter the room until asked to do so. If you are waiting in the corridor, please observe social distancing. At the end of the class, please do not linger in the building to chat – make your way outside as soon as you are ready.

Face Coverings

All attendees must wear face coverings on entering the building (unless you are exempt).

Face coverings may be removed when you are seated within your own designated space or moving around your designated space.

Face coverings must be worn when leaving the room, until you have exited the building.

Hand Sanitation

Please observe good hand washing hygiene and use a hand gel before entering the class.
There will also be hand gel available in the room.

Equipment

If you have your own mat and other equipment, please bring it to the class each week with you.

If you do not have a mat, please let Sasha know in advance and she will provide with you own one in the first week, which you will then be responsible for until further notice. It will belong to Parkinson’s UK and be loaned to you.

You will need your own head rest (this can be a rolled up towel or small pillow/cushion – Sasha will look at what you bring and may suggest alternatives if it is not suitable).

You may need something to place under your feet when seated (this can be your mat or a yoga block).

If you have a small spike ball (or tennis ball) please bring it each week.

Sasha will provide small Pilates balls to use in the class, which she will be able to clean each week, but again, if you have your own please feel free to bring it.

Finally, Sasha will be taking a lateral flow test 3 times per week until further notice, and may have to cancel the class at short notice if she is unwell or have been in contact with someone who tests positive and am waiting for a PCR test. Please check your emails on a Monday/Wednesday morning in case of cancellation.

If you have any questions, please ask Sasha. She very much hopes to see you in person again soon.
