Edinburgh Parkinson’s Virtual Burns Night 25th January 2021

TALES TO TELL – SONGS TO SING – YOU ARE INVITED TO A PACKED EVENING OF ENTERTAINMENT TO CELEBRATE THE LIFE OF ROBERT BURNS, OUR NATIONAL BARD

One of the best, not to be missed social events in the Edinburgh Parkinson’s calendar, and this year’s virtual performance is no exception. We are honoured to once again welcome Sir Geoffrey Palmer, whose knowledge of the brewing industry along with his knowledge of the slave trade and its Scottish connection at the time of Burns  make  for a riveting and highly entertaining talk.

It is also a great pleasure to welcome back the hilarious and award-winning East Lothian folk singer /songwriter George Mcharty. George has an impressive repertoire of songs ranging from sublimely ridiculous to wry social comment.

A real treat of the evening will be the wonderful performances from some weel kent faces amongst the Edinburgh Parkinson’s crew who would love to see you there! A big thank you to everyone who has contributed so far..

Date: Monday 25th 2021.  19:00 hours – 21:00 hours

Viewing is free but donations to Edinburgh Parkinson’s are welcome.

I’m afraid this year you have to supply your own Haggis, have a bottle of whatever you fancy for the toasts (there will be least four), wear something tartan if you can.

Everyone is welcome and, indeed, encouraged to take part in the ‘open mic’ if you would like to contribute a performance (song, poem) please  contact Lindsay ASAP by email: Lindsay.McDermid@iCloud.com
