Last year’s Lecture was delivered at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on Monday 30th September 2019 by the leading neurosurgeon Professor Andres Lozano from the University of Toronto.
260 attendees from the local Parkinson’s community, medical professionals and university researchers enjoyed the pre-lecture reception and then listened to an excellent talk where Prof Lozano described the good long-term therapeutic results that can be achieved with deep brain stimulation and the prospects for a new non-surgical approach using focused ultrasound. The evening ended with a presentation to Ken Bowler in recognition of his achievement in establishing the Edinburgh Parkinson’s Lecture and making it such an important annual event for the Parkinson’s community in Scotland.
