East Lothian: Parkinson’s Exercise Class

Thanks to support from Parkinson’s UK, Enjoy Leisure is able to bring about a FREE 12-week class to assess interest in a Parkinson’s class in the East Lothian area.

The class is led by an experienced level 4 qualified exercise instructor who has also undertaken additional training awareness of Parkinson’s delivered by Parkinson’s UK.

To help Enjoy Leisure to  monitor the success of the class, participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire and a simple exercise test at the start or end of the pilot period.

Who is the class suitable for
The class will be delivered as a circuit-based class and is ideal for those recently diagnosed or with mild to moderate Parkinson’s symptoms. The level of exercise will be adapted to ability.

All participants require a referral from a health professional e.g. Parkinson’s Nurse, GP or Physio. Referral forms are available and should be returned to pdavis@enjoyleisure.com
On receipt of the referral, Enjoy Leisure will call the patient and discuss the best activity options and advise on what to bring to the class.
