The Parkinson’s UK Younger Parkinson’s (YP) working group have organised Scotland’s YP information and support activities for 2025.
Chloe Macmillan (Area Development Manager Scotland, Parkinson’s UK Scotland) shared some information:
“Firstly, we will be hosting 3 online introductory sessions for people living with Parkinson’s of working age (aged 66 or under).
The same session will run 3 times on
Zoom, 7 – 9pm, on:
- Tuesday 8 April
- Thursday 5 June
- Tuesday 19 August
Over the years, YP attendees have told us that they value a programme that provides both information and support – they want to hear from the charity, ie what we do and how we can help, but also importantly, from peers who understand firsthand what it is like to be living with Parkinson’s.
At these short online YP introductory sessions, attendees will:
- hear from others living with Parkinson’s about what has helped them to manage their Parkinson’s moving forward;
- hear from a Parkinson’s Local Adviser about their role and how they can help; and
- after a comfort break, attendees will be able to ask questions and access peer support informally.
Hopefully, these sessions may help people to feel more assured to attend the in person Younger Parkinson’s event in September for the first time”.
