What a start our players had to their competitive careers when they took part in the Scottish International Parkinson’s Open at Inverclyde Sports Centre last Saturday (5th November 2023).
Diane Kennedy, Alison Williams, Scott Wilson and Robert Smith only took up table tennis 12 months ago and this is the first time any of them have competed.
Great result for Diane Kennedy who won Gold in the Ladies Singles
Alison Williams won Bronze in the same category.
Diane and Alison teamed up the following day to win Bronze in the Ladies Doubles, to consolidate their previous day’s successes.
Scott and Robert narrowly missed getting further in the competition by the slimmest of margins.
But they agreed it was an amazing learning experience and everyone had great fun.
