Parkinson’s Voice Initiative

Last year many of you took part in the Parkinson’s Voice Initiative which aims to use voice analysis to diagnose and monitor Parkinson’s. PatientsLikeMe have now launched the next stage of this pioneering study.

Background
PatientsLikeMe have teamed up with Sage Bionetworks for the next stage of this exciting study – the Patient Voice Analysis which will bring together two important research tools to capture individual experiences of Parkinson’s:

  • the PatientsLikeMe Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (PDRS)
  • and Voice analysis technology.

The research team hope collecting both PDRS and voice recordings could help to remotely, and quickly, monitor the progression of Parkinson’s and response to treatment over time. This study is funded by DARPA.

Who can take part?
People with Parkinson’s

What is involved?
Taking part will take around 10 minutes. You will need to visit the PatientsLikeMe website and sign up to an account and then:

The closing date to take part is June 2014.
