Parkinson’s Nurse Telephone Advice Line

We received some important information today (30th November) from the Parkinson’s Nurses:

“The Parkinson’s telephone Helpline service is changing for a 3-month trial from 1st December.

When someone phones our telephone number – 0131 465 9156 it will now transfer to the secretaries. The caller will be given a telephone appointment day & time. One of the nurses will call on the allocated day and deal with any questions related to Parkinson’s.

If you feel your calls are medically urgent then seek the advice from you GP or 111.

The aim is to ensure people are available when we call back. We can spend a lot of time trying to return calls and there is no answer or we leave a voicemail. The list of outstanding calls can keep growing over several days.

We will feedback to the Branch at the end of the trial to decide how we go forward.

The Nurses appreciate you patience with this new process”.
