Pain Concern (Edinburgh): Mindfulness Sessions Coming Soon

Sam Mason the Operations Manager at Pain Concern (Newcraighall Road, Edinburgh), asked Parkinson’s UK Scotland to spread the word that due to new funding, they will shortly be offering a variety of Mindfulness sessions over the next 12 months.

From the Pain Concern website, they confirm Mindfulness is able to help people manage chronic pain by:

  • improving focus
  • reducing stress
  • fostering emotional balance

They also confirm that beyond anecdotal evidence, research shows that mindfulness can positively impact pain management by improving quality of life.

Pain Concern previously had Mindfulness taster sessions, taken by Cath Ashby who is currently delivering an online Mindfulness course to Branch Members.

The Pain Concern sessions are open to those living with chronic pain and are for residents across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

The sessions are free, with majority being delivered online.
