The NHS Lothian Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network research team run a portfolio of clinical studies for Parkinson’s Disease and other conditions. We run clinical trials investigating the effects of new treatments and studies that are designed to better understand Parkinson’s.
Registering with the Permission to Contact Research Interest Register allows our Edinburgh-based clinical research team to contact you about research studies that may be relevant to you.
The system is hosted by the Health Informatics Centre (HIC) in Dundee and has full ethical approval. It is secure and confidential.
What’s involved?: Registering with Permission To Contact (PTC) does not oblige you to take part in research, only to be contacted about current and upcoming trials.
At any time, you have the right to withdraw your details from the database and the right to withdraw from any trial you may participate in.

Who is eligible to take part?: Anyone with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy or multiple system atrophy.
People with other neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Huntington’s disease and motor neurone disease can also join the register.
