This is an advanced exercise programme that incorporates both physical and cognitive activity for people in the earlier stages of Parkinson’s (mild to moderate symptoms). Evidence shows that high-effort, intensive, complex exercise can slow the progression of symptoms by using the brain’s natural ability to reorganise its neural pathways, resulting in more efficient movement patterns. That is, moving more freely and with less conscious thought. This method is only effective with repetition and consistency of the right type of exercise, and therefore requires a full commitment to doing the exercises daily
We are pleased to announce that we are beginning a new 10-week programme of Neurodynamics.
- When: October 2023 (start date to be confirmed, but will be Wednesdays from 1-2pm)
- Where: Fisherrow Centre, Musselburgh
Cost will be £60 for the programme with an additional cost of £25 for equipment to be retained by the attendee. Payment can be made via the Branch Shop
There is a requirement for a 1:1 assessment consultation which will be carried out earlier in August. This will last around 90 minutes.
The 10-week programme requires attendance at the weekly class and also daily exercises at home.
At the end of the 10-week programme, another assessment will take place, lasting around 60 minutes.
