Music and Movement Project

The Wellbeing Unit and the Arts Team of St Columba’s Hospice Care are offering a music and movement project for people with Parkinson’s and their carers.

This will consist of six weekly sessions.  These follow the Dalcroze Eurythmics approach to music and movement, which includes listening and responding to live music. Monica Wilkinson will be the music practitioner delivering the sessions. She gave us a wonderful taster session at our Branch Get-Together on 14th September.  Monica completed her training at Institute Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, and is an experienced music teacher.

Sessions will also be attended by a St Columba’s Hospice researcher and the Arts Lead of the Hospice.

This Flyer gives full details of Monica, and more about the project.

When?: The first session is on Monday 3rd October from 11:00-12:00

Where?: The Wellbeing Unit of St Columba’s Hospice Care (15 Boswall Road, Edinburgh EH5 3RW).

Why?: Music and movement activities can strengthen movement coordination, promote confidence and prevent falls.
