How to Get There

Location of Lecture

This year the lecture is being given in the Wellcome Auditorium of the Queen’s Medical Research Institute, which is co-located with the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France. The map shows the QMRI location.

Travel to QMRI

You are encouraged to use public transport if at all possible as parking is restricted and expensive.

Bus

The Infirmary site is well served by Lothian Bus services 7, 8, 21, 24, 33 and 49. The main bus hub on campus is close to the East entrance to the hospital, but there are other more convenient stops for some services close to the West entrance to the hospital and the entrance to the Queen’s Medical Research Institute. In some cases those travelling from the city may be better advised to get off the bus before it turns into the RIE campus..

Car

You can park in the public car parks at the Royal Infirmary but bear in mind that they are often very busy. The locations are shown in the map below. Car parking charges are as follows:

0-1 hr £1.30
1-2 hrs £2.30
2-3 hrs £3.30
3-4 hrs £4.30
