Better informing falls management in the home and community

This online ERIG meeting took place on Saturday 22 November 2025 at 10:00.

The speaker was Dr Alan Godfrey from Northumbria University. Dr Godfrey is leading a collaborative proposal to the National Institute for Health and Care Research with university colleagues from Newcastle, Liverpool John Moores, Bradford and Heriot-Watt.

Alan wants to involve People affected by Parkinson’s in all these locations in the application process. They plan to use digital wearable devices to monitor walking patterns in People with Parkinson’s, with the ultimate aim of preventing freezing and falls.

Dr Godfrey’s collaborator from Heriot-Watt, Dr Encarna Micó Amigo, also joined us.
