What the Branch Means to Me

These are some comments from existing Branch members when asked to reflect on the benefits of Branch membership, canvassed at a Branch Get-together in early 2020. Some are from people with Parkinson’s, some from care-partners.

Friendship from a wonderful group of people, useful source of information, support for each other, interesting talks accompanied by tea, coffee and biscuits.

Norma

Keeps me connected with activities and people that help keep me healthy in body and spirit. A sense of hopeful community and laughter.

Alison

Our branch is a most valuable asset for all of us with PD. It provides an incredible number of activities for all tastes and abilities. We get support from each other.

Anne

It’s good to meet up and share experiences. There’s always a listening ear. Such a great variety of groups and classes.

Dot

An atmosphere of ‘Side by Side’ permeates the Branch.

Mike

Has been a constant positive since I became involved in 2000.

Bill

A place where I feel normal.

Liza

Lots of activities: Tai Chi, Pilates, yoga, NEURODYNAMICS.

Nick

Company and exercise.
