Frame Running for People with Parkinson’s

Would you like to be able to walk without having to worry about losing your balance?

Or did you have to give up running due to Parkinson’s?

You are invited to a frame running “Come & Try” event for people with Parkinson’s at Saughton Sports Complex in Edinburgh on 30th September 2024 from 16:30 to 18:30.

The event is an informal get-together with refreshments and an opportunity to try walking or running with a three-wheeled frame. It is suitable for people at all stages of Parkinson’s. After registration, the organisers will ask you some questions about your health to make sure it is safe for you to participate in physical activity and will ask your consent for this.

There is also the option to participate in research. Edinburgh University who are doing a study on the feasibility of frame running in people with Parkinson’s would like to collect video and survey data during the event.  However they stress that you are welcome to try frame running without participating in the research. You would be asked for research consent after registration and you can opt in or out of the research at that point.

Please view the official poster for more information.

You can register via this link.

If you would like to try frame running but cannot make the event, please contact the UoE researchers, so that they can let you know about other opportunities to try frame running.
