We have monthly Branch Get-Togethers on the second Wednesday of the month, from September until May/June. These aim to be social meetings, where you can come along, knowing there are other people around for a chat, to share experience, perhaps learn something new, or find out details of what is going on in the Branch. Some months we may have guests, to share information or knowledge, but there is always time for socialising.
We sent a leaflet to all Branch Members in August 2023, which gives our annual calendar of events, and outlines the speakers/guests and the Get-Togethers (which are subject to change – as below).
Should you require a copy, please contact: secretary@edinburghparkinsons.org
We start at 2pm, where tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided. The meeting lasts around 90 minutes.
Venue is St Andrew’s & St George’s West,13 George St, Edinburgh EH2 2PA. This is very central to bus and train station, and blue badge holders can park in George Street.
Our Get-Together in March 2024 is also our AGM. Please do come along on 13th March to St Andrews and St George’s West on George Street. We will be joined by Parkinson’s UK Trustee for Scotland Brian Carson who will give us an update.
Note: May 2024 Get Together: Two Changes
As it’s the annual Christian Aid book sale at St Andrews and St George’s West, we have had to vacate the church for the May Get Together. We also have a change of advertised speaker as Tanith Muller from Parkinson’s UK had to swap to an earlier date (a summary of the talk is given below).
We are more than delighted that Alison Williams is going share with us details of the December 2023 NECTAR (Network for European CNS Transplantation and Restoration) conference that was held in Naples.
The venue for this meeting will be: Liberton Kirk Halls, Kirkgate, Edinburgh, EH16 6RY.
The venue is served by Lothian Buses: 7, 31, 37 & 47. There is a small car park with 2 blue badge spaces, and there is free parking in the road.
As usual we start at 2pm, where tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided.
